Frequently asked questions
Do you post pictures of my pets on social media?
Yes, I love to share the adorable moments of the pets in my care! With your permission, I may take photos and videos of your pet(s) enjoying their time with me and post them on my company's social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, tiktok) and/or website for promotional purposes. I am always mindful of your privacy and will avoid showing identifying features of your home. You will have the opportunity to grant or decline this permission during our booking process. Your comfort and privacy are important to me!
Do you offer boarding at your home?
We offer specialized in-home boarding exclusively for birds, small mammals, and reptiles. This allows us to provide the quiet, species-specific environment these delicate animals require. At this time, we do not offer boarding for dogs or cats, as we prefer to care for them in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
What does a typical visit include?
Each visit typically includes feeding and fresh water, potty breaks/litter box cleaning, playtime and exercise, administration of medications (if needed), and plenty of cuddles and attention! I also provide daily updates.
How do I book your services?
The process begins with an Online Inquiry. Once we confirm availability for your dates, we will schedule a Professional Consultation (Meet & Greet). This allows us to meet your animal family, review their medical history, and ensure we are the perfect fit for your needs.
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially for peak seasons (holidays, summer, school breaks), as my availability fills up quickly. I will always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
Will you update me while I'm away?
Absolutely. We believe in enduring transparency. You will receive a daily update including photos and a "wellness report" on your pets’ behavior, appetite, and spirits. For medical clients, these updates include specific confirmation of medication administration times and dosages.
What if my trip is delayed?
Please notify us as soon as you anticipate a delay. Because we are a Professional Duo (Spencer & Sam), we offer a "double layer" of reliability. We will continue to provide uninterrupted care for your pets until you return, at the daily agreed rate.
Are you "Bonded and Insured"?
Yes. The Critter Keeper LLC carries a comprehensive Commercial General Liability policy specifically for pet care professionals, which includes a $10,000 Employee Dishonesty Bond. This ensures both your property and your pets are protected during every visit.
